FAQ

How should we dress for our family session?

Try and stay in the neutral/earthy tones such as cream, tan, brown, black, khaki green, pastel blues, or navy. Avoid bright colours, big floral patterns and any branding across the front of t-shirts. Try to keep consistency across a family wardrobe so that everyone looks cohesive.

What’s the best time to have a session with a newborn?

The most ideal time to have a newborn session is between 4 days to 2 weeks. I recommend booking in your newborn session for approximately 1 week after your due date. Newborn sessions can always be rescheduled depending on bub's arrival.

When should I book in my maternity session?

Around 28-35 weeks is the ideal time for maternity photos. This is when your belly is nice and big, but you're still feeling comfortable.
Make sure you've locked in your session by the time you've reached 20 weeks so you don't miss out!

Where is your studio located?

My beautiful home studio is located in the heart of Belgrave in the Dandenong Ranges. (Right near Puffing Billy!)

Is there any travel fees?

There is a small travel fee for some beach locations that I offer: Blairgowrie/ Flinders/ Sandringham: $50
Olinda: No travel fee

What happens if it's forecast to rain?

This will be determined 24 hours prior to the session. If it is forecast for heavy rain, storms or constant rain, you will be contacted to reschedule. 'Light rain', 'possible showers' or ‘overcast’ will not necessitate a reschedule; however, a slight adjustment to the time may be required.

When will I receive my images?

Approx. 1 week after your session, you will receive your selection gallery. This is where you will be able to view the full curated gallery (colour corrected only) to select your favourites. It is at this time that you will be able to purchase more images, or even the full gallery if you wish to. Once your images have been selected, I will do further edits, and you should receive your gallery back in up to 2 weeks.
If you have purchased a package that comes with a full gallery, you will receive your images in 2-3 weeks after your session.

What if my kids don't behave?

We will aim for the standard ‘everybody looking at the camera’ family photo at the beginning of the session, so that it is out of the way right at the start. After that, if your kids decide to run wild, let them! My sessions are about capturing candid moments of you and your family, so the more fun they have, the better! The last thing we want is unhappy kids who have been told to stand still and smile at the camera.
